When seventeen year old Lexi imagined her senior year she saw cheering on the varsity squad, finding a boyfriend and going to the prom. It did not include finding out she was a vampire or that this could be her last year alive. Lexi learns that she is a Light Changeling, a vampire with the ability to change humans into vampires. There are two Changelings born every generation, a light and a dark. The Dark Changelings are determined to increase the vampire population to the dominant one by changing humans. Lexi, armed with physical and psychic abilities, has to defeat not just one Dark Changeling but the former Dark Changeling, Rurik. A feat that has never been accomplished by a Light Changeling. Lexi's two Watchers are determined for her to be the one left standing. But after Lexi develops feelings for Gabriel, she might have one more enemy to face. With trials to go through for the vampire council and Dark Changelings to defeat, when is a girl supposed to find a prom dress?

I loved the way the novel started. It grabbed my attention from the very beginning. The plot itself is not trite, but a bit predictable--in a good kind of way.The characters are engaging and the premise of this story is really interesting. I enjoyed watching Lexi's (the protagonist) transformation and of course I loved the ending. The only downside was that sometimes as I was reading I felt as if the author was "giving in" to the supporting characters too easily--like I couldn't see enough of the inner and outer conflict they faced in relation to Lexi's situation. Sort of like everything was all neat and tidy, like it fell into place too easily. (It wasn't messy enough.) I won't go into more detail because I don't want to give spoilers.
I enjoyed the book and I think there might be a future story about Mia and D. (or at least, I hope there will be)

In my opinion if you love the Twilight series you will also love this book. I rarely find a book that keeps my attention from beginning to end but this one did and it was a very enjoyable read. Great story for teens, young adults and adults. I think this author could be very successful if she continues to write and would love to see her create a series from this book. Again great job and keep up the good work!!

If you love vampire books, then you will enjoy this one! This one has a unique vampire story line, which always makes me more interested. The love story is great. I can just imagine Gabriel ... yummy! D I really hope the author decides to make a second book. I would love to see this story continue!

I really enjoyed the concept of good versus evil. I think this book is perfect for teens! I'm sure the author will continue to grow as she writes in the future. Good luck to you! The only downside was that it was a very established plot, not really any surprises, but I think that teens/ya will love it! A very positive book. There are a few jokes that will definitely crack the reader up! I will definitely read more by this author when available.
